About Meridian Water:

Cognition Land and Water Ltd is delighted to be working on the Meridian Water project which is Enfield Council’s lead regeneration programme creating 10,000 Homes and 6,000 Jobs. Cognition will be working on this site from Spring 2024 carrying out remediation, earthworks and civil engineering activities. Cognition has a long history of works in the East London area and is looking to employ additional people to support growth and new projects.

Role Overview:

To support project delivery teams within Enfield, London and neighbouring counties.
• To organize and manage the day to day running of the Project Office
• To be responsible for the day-to-day management of project documents between the project team, leadership teams and client
• To participate in the pre-construction process, supporting the bid teams
• To support the contract and commercial management team within the business unit
• To maintain and maximise quality of service and profitability within the project and deliver best value.
• To ensure safety regulations, inspections and testing are carried out at Project Offices
• To lead the engagement with public and stakeholders by our projects
• To collate best practice by our projects and compile case studies and evidence logs for audits
• Maintain and enforce health, safety and environmental standards as required by statute and company’s policies.
• Maintain and enforce quality standards as defined by national standards, client contracts and the company’s policies.
• To build long term relationships with clients, joint venture partners, contractors and other key stakeholders
• To adopt and ensure full utilization of IT and collaborative working methods on each project


Key Responsibilities:

• Controlling company and project documentation
• Following and improving document control procedures
• Reviewing documents for submission against contractual requirements and required company standards
• Sorting, storing and retrieving electronic and hard copy documents on behalf of clients and company
• Conducting regular reviews and supporting formal audits
• Using IT systems to produce and maintain registers, minutes, filing systems and other documents.
• General office administrative duties
• Ordering and managing consumables for site use
• Managing site calendars and facilities
• Participating in meetings, sending out reminders, taking meeting minutes and chasing actions from attendees
• Chasing the return of information from sub-contractors
• Interacting with clients and visitors either on the phone or in person, and generally meeting and greeting visitors to the office.
• Engaging with local communities, schools, colleges and charities to develop activities, work placements
Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience as Document Controller and/or Office Administrator
• Knowledge of safety, environmental and quality management processes for offices
• Able to show understanding of commercial and procurement processes including SAP
• Knowledge and use of collaborative / cloud based information sharing and storage including Dropbox, AConnex, Viewpoint and Field View or similar collaboration platforms (CDEs).
• IT skills eg Office 365, Microsoft Teams
• Good Communication Skills
• Level 1 Maths and English

Desirable:

• We are particularly interested in recruiting locally from the Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Waltham Forest Councils
• Knowledge of the Considerate Constructors Scheme
• CSCS card
• First Aid at Work
• Fire Marshall

Benefits and Remuneration:

• 37.5hour week, site based.
• Salary of £29,500 per year
