Summary
Carpenter (trainee) / Timber machinist required.
We require another Carpenter and timber machinist to help keep up with demand.
This is a physical job that requires good fitness and dexterity.
Although the work area is covered, you must be ability to work in an outdoor environment, sometimes off site.
You must work to a high level of accuracy and quality of finish.
Training will be provided.
However a good basic knowledge of carpentry skills and hand tools is essential, on application.
Previous use of timber machining tools such a moulder/resaws/crosscuts would also be an advantage.
You should also be used to working in Metric or Imperial dimensions.
Advancement to more senior post after a period of initial training is available to candidates with ambition.
After an initial 6 months probation period, this position may become a permanent, year round, full time position to the right candidate.
Many of the present employees have long service with the company.
The Sawmill is in a remote location; therefore your own transport is essential.
A reference letter from your previous employer should be available if you are invited to an interview.
Hour of work, Mon-Thur 08:00-17:30. Fri 08:-16:30 Overtime may be available.
