Agency General Scrub Practitioner

Hourly Rate: £29.03

Are you a highly skilled and compassionate Scrub Practitioner with a passion for surgical care? We are seeking an Agency General Scrub Practitioner to join our team and contribute to the seamless delivery of exceptional patient care during surgical procedures. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the operating room is meticulously prepared, the surgical team is supported, and patients receive high-quality care.

The qualifications we are looking for are:
  • A Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification
  • Valid and clear NMC or HCPC qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in a Scrub Role role, displaying advanced clinical skills and a deep understanding of surgical procedures, indicating proficiency and expertise (Minimum 6 months)
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to ensure readiness for emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills crucial for seamless coordination with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals, highlighting the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment


As a key member of our team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Thoroughly preparing the operating room, ensuring the sterilization and readiness of all essential equipment, and organizing supplies for surgical procedures
  • Providing active assistance to the surgical team during procedures, anticipating their needs, and maintaining a sterile field with precision and attention to detail
  • Offering empathetic care to patients before, during, and after surgery, addressing both their physical and emotional needs to provide a supportive and comforting environment
  • Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety, facilitating clear communication and efficient coordination
  • Adhering strictly to infection control protocols and ensuring a pristine and safe working environment through stringent hygiene practices
