A Vacancy at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Stroke Services for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team to cover maternity leave until 7th July 2025, part time 22.5 hours per week.

The Community Stroke service provides Early Supported Discharge as well as support for people who have a new therapeutic need some time after their stroke. This is in line with the Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) model providing a needs-based service.

You will join our multidisciplinary team which consists of Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists as well as an experienced team of Associate and Assistant practitioners.

The Community Rehabilitation service is in demand and continues giving a high level of service to the patients within North East Essex. We have a high degree of diversity and specialism within our team. We offer a well-established supervision and appraisal structure and we have a firm commitment to CPD and evidence based practice.

Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only. This will need to be discussed with your line manager.

The key objectives for this post are to provide high quality, safe, evidence based and goal-focused rehabilitation, supporting stroke survivors to become experts in their own care and remain in their own homes; and to provide holistic assessment specialist physiotherapy intervention.

Clear clinical reasoning; good assessment and intervention skills; and experience in neuro/stroke care are essential. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical skills and be actively involved in service development.

We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics and in patients’ own homes.

We are one of the largest NHS organisations in England, employing more than 12,000 staff.

We pride ourselves on supporting our staff. We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities, as well as flexible working options.

Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offer a variety of services.

Our philosophy is that Time Matters to everyone. Across the Trust, we concentrate on improving the things we do and removing those which cause time delays for our staff and patients.

We are investing in our commitment to Time Matters with a partnership with leading electronic patient record (EPR) supplier Epic. This digital transformation will bring what’s widely regarded as the world’s best EPR system to ESNEFT, transforming life in hospital for staff and patients.

If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge, then we want to hear from you.
