You'll be the right-hand person to our Chief Executive, supporting her with essential administrative tasks and helping to keep our centre running like clockwork! Location: The Plough Arts Centre, 9-11 Fore St, Great Torrington, Torrington EX38 8HQ
Salary: £25,000 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full time, on-site)
Holiday: 33 days (including bank holidays)

The Plough Arts Centre in Great Torrington is a vibrant hub of creativity and culture, and we're looking for an Executive Assistant to join our fun and friendly team! You'll be the right-hand person to our Chief Executive, supporting her with essential administrative tasks and helping keep our centre running like clockwork. Your role at a glance:

Be the Gatekeeper: Handle phone calls, emails, and visitors like a pro!
Master of Meetings: Set up meetings, take minutes, and keep everyone in the loop.
Support the Chief Executive: Research, collate information, and assist with reports and presentations.
Organise Our Programming Administration: Liaise with agents and film distributors, send contracts, and manage invoicing.
Keep the Lights On: Ensure utilities like gas, electricity, water, and phones are all up-to-date with the best deals.
Manage the Team Admin: Oversee staff records, holiday schedules, and recruitment admin.
Payroll Pro: Ensure staff and freelancers are paid accurately and on time.
Governance Guru: Support the CEO with governance tasks
Occasional Duty Manager: Step up to open/close the centre where needed.

Who we’re looking for:

We need someone who is friendly, efficient and who can juggle multiple tasks with ease.

Essential:

Top-notch communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and a team player
A positive can-do attitude
Excellent at prioritising tasks to meet deadlines
Attention to detail (especially with contracts and numbers)
Confident with spreadsheets and basic accounting
Able to say “no” when necessary to protect the Chief Executive’s time
Calm under pressure when multitasking

Desirable:

Familiarity with Google Docs and Patronbase/Spectrix systems
Experience developing and implementing operational systems
Interest in the arts (bonus points if you’re passionate about them!)
Knowledge of HR, health & safety, and relevant laws
