Summary
Opportunity to join a boutique R&D and technology development consulting firm as a Electrochemistry Scientist. Reporting to the Technical Director, the role entails deep research, analysis and technology development to shape the development of cutting-edge electrochemical technologies and impactful solutions for decarbonisation and energy transition of hard to abate sectors. Our client domain is in Fortune 500 Energy Companies. Sinclair Energy (SE) is looking for a motivated, technically astute, and self- driven individual with a keen interest in the Energy Transition sector.
Job specifications:
• Academic or industrial experience in electrochemical systems and hybrid bioelectrochemical systems
• Knowledge of electrodes, membranes and other core components of electrochemical systems
• Ability to research novel concepts and build/ validate hypothesis
• Keen interest in new technologies and progressive derisking
• Support with design and development of green hydrogen and eFuels technologies, from a broad range of biogenic feedstocks
• Selecting the required tools and materials for the testing and prototyping process
• Broad understanding of development milestones and metrics such as TRL and maturity levels
• Research oriented and self-motivating attitude towards new technology development
• Lead research, documenting findings, and presenting reports at management.
• Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and training of junior Engineers or Apprentices.
• Attending workshops, training sessions, and conferences to network with others and stay on top of field advancements.
• Develop knowledgebase and reports on the drivers and trends in the decarbonisation and energy transition sector
Requirements and expertise needed:
• Strong background in an engineering or technical discipline, such as chemical engineering, systems engineering, bioengineering, electrochemistry, physics and mathematics
• Master degree or PhD in technically relevant discipline
• Ability to work in a team or alone.
• Self-starter with a passion for engineering
• Keen interest in the technologies and innovation landscape for industrial decarbonisation and
circularity
• Technically astute in electrochemical technologies in decarbonisation and energy transition
