What we can offer you here at Newham is the opportunity to work in a busy east London hospital with support from a variety of specialist posts and senior maternity team. We are friendly and innovative team, privileged to have extensive investment in our maternity workforce to support you. With a large team of senior midwives, consultant midwives, specialist midwives and new exciting posts, which is a fantastic opportunity for you. We are absolutely committed to ensuring that women, and our staff, have a positive experience of our maternity service.

We have a state of the art simulation centre to support high fidelity multi-disciplinary obstetric emergency training, as well as a bespoke and comprehensive in-service education programme. At Barts health we are committed to equal opportunities.

For newly qualified midwives, we have developed an excellent Preceptorship rotational programme supported by our visible Practice Development Team, which has been recognised with a quality award by CapitalMidwife.

The band 5 midwife posts are suitable for recently qualified midwives or those with less experience who want to consolidate their training and gain experience and skills in a variety of clinical settings.



The band 6 posts are suitable for experience qualified midwives, unfortunately at this time we are unable to over sponsorship for overseas midwives.

We have a number of vacancies throughout different clinical settings and strongly feel that this may be the job for you.

To provide comprehensive midwifery care in the maternity unit and primary health care
setting within the model of care practised in the maternity services. To provide the highest
standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary
team.
