As part of ongoing development of the Community Children's Nursing Services within City Health Care Partnership CIC, a vacancy for Health Care Support Workers has arisen to join the Sunshine House short break unit.
Sunshine House provides respite to children and young people (aged 0-18 years) with complex disabilities and health care needs. We are open 7 days a week, all year round, and the successful applicant will expected to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts. The successful applicant will join a well-motivated, friendly and very supportive team who encourage personal and professional development. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills within an innovative and creative environment.
We are looking for a part-time post primarily based at Sunshine House with some in-reach into the local special needs schools. The successful applicant would be expected to support the wider Children's Community Care team with clinics and with providing care in community settings, as required. As an integral part of the team, you will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and have recent experience in working alongside children and their families. You will be flexible to work with different staff teams providing nursing care across Hull and East Riding.
The role will incorporate caring for children and their families within a range of environments including school, home and other care or respite settings. The CCN Service covers both acute and complex conditions, phlebotomy and wound clinics, and continence support. We also incorporate palliative and end of life care, when needed. We strive to provide seamless and transparent service and would welcome prospective applicants to speak to a community nursing team member, should they want to get a feel for the role before application.
