Opportunity: As the Retail Manager of the Phoenix Shop, you will play a pivotal role in the overall management and success of the shop. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the retail shop. You will be leading a diverse team, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and contributing to the growth and profitability of the business. You will also have the opportunity to help shape this successful 25-year old company as we adapt to a changing operating environment within The Park Ecovillage.
Key Responsibilities:
● Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and motivate the retail shop team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
● Operational Excellence: Oversight and involvement in all aspects of daily operations, including inventory management, stock ordering, staff scheduling, supplier relations and, product quality control.
● Merchandising: organise rotation of stock and displays on a regular basis, sourcing of new products, replenishment of existing stock and overseeing stocktaking.
● Customer Experience: Ensure that each customer enjoys a memorable visit by maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and product quality.
● Marketing and Promotion: Take the lead in and marketing initiatives, promotions, and events to attract and retain customers.
Qualifications:
● Proven experience as a Manager in the retail industry.
● Strong leadership and team management skills.
● Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
● Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
● Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service focus.
● Knowledge of health and safety and food safety regulations.
● Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Essential Criteria:
● 1 year minimum managerial experience in a retail environment.
● Experience in sourcing new stock, creating displays, pricing and stocktaking.
● 5 GCSE's or equivalent including English and Mathematics.
● All Applicants must be flexible to work weekends on a rotational basis (currently once per month) and bank holidays if required on a rotational basis.
