Summary

We are seeking a Trainee Pipe Organ Tuner to join our family run business based between Coventry and Leamington. We maintain and tune pipe organs across middle England. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to work with the largest of mechanical instruments and develop their skills in a unique field. Musical knowledge is not essential.

You will be collected in the morning and we will travel to Churches, Town Halls, Schools and Private homes to carry out tuning and maintenance of pipe organs. We also carry out cleanings and overhauls.

Your location needs to be within a 10 mile radius of Ryton on Dunsmore. CV8 3FF

The basic working hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, with a holiday allowance of 6 weeks plus Bank Holidays.

Some aspects of cleanings and overhauls involve lifting and manoeuvring organ parts and pipes so you will need to be fit and healthy.

We will travel around 30,000 miles a year so if you suffer from travel sickness this is not the job for you.

Inside pipe organs you might be working at safe heights so you need to be comfortable with heights and ladders.

You should be good at working with your hands.

Duties:

- Assist senior tuner in tuning and repairing pipe organs.
- Gain experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical parts of pipe organs.
- Learn to use hand tools and power tools for assembling and disassembling pipe organ components.
- Learn how to tune an organ, find and diagnose faults.

Wages.

Age 16-17 £7.50 per hour; £300.00 per week

Age 18- 20 £9.60 per hour; £384.00 per week

Age 21 + £12.44 per hour; £497.60 per week

Experience:
- No prior experience required; full training will be provided.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
- Interest in music and musical instruments is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to work methodically and pay attention to detail.
