School Effectiveness - Building Bright Futures  

Wiltshire Governor Services is seeking to appoint 3 LA employed clerks to join the existing Clerking Service for schools.

This is a vital position, ensuring the effectiveness of the Governing Body by providing administrative and procedural advice.

As a Clerk, you will be allocated to work with individual schools and the position will be home-based. The clerk will attend on average six governor meetings per year, usually held in the evening at the school/s.

You will be employed on a 96 hour per annum contract for each school clerked – which works out roughly two hours per week throughout the year. The LA Clerking Service operates across the whole of Wiltshire, but school allocation will usually be made on a geographical basis to where you live.

LA employed clerks receive full and ongoing training within their role, which we will expect you to attend.

We are looking to appoint people who are proactive, efficient and reliable. The job requires someone who is a good communicator, who works well on their own using their own initiative and as part of a team. Previous clerking experience/experience of taking accurate minutes is highly desirable.
