Summary
Newborn Services is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Senior Clinical Fellow who will work 50% as a simulation fellow and 50% on the Tier 2 tertiary medical rota.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent skills in Neonatal Intensive Care, good leadership and communication skills and multi-disciplinary team working. Excellent opportunities exist for participation in teaching, research, audit and clinical governance.
To provide a clinical service in Neonatal Medicine and Surgery, to provide cover for labour ward and the postnatal wards, and to work closely with the Consultants, other middle-grade and junior-grade doctors, nurse practitioners and nursing staff. As a simulation fellow you would lead in the NICU Education programme, and support doctors and nurse practitioners in training.
Applicants must possess a minimum of six months of previous experience in Neonates at the Tier 2 level, and a full MRCPCH or equivalent level is mandatory.
Education: The successful candidate will have opportunities to enhance their scenario writing, reflective of current clinical practice and challenges, their facilitation and debriefing skills.
Research:The Neonatal Simulation Fellow will undertake research / quality improvement projects. The Neonatal Simulation Fellow will be encouraged to disseminate the simulation activity locally, nationally and internationally and to write up any developments in a peer reviewed journal.
