1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle
Start Date: ASAP (from September 2024)
Hours: 08:30 - 16:00
Contract: Full-time and part-time roles available, with potential for permanent placement
Role:
- We need enthusiastic and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistants to inspire and support pupils in one of our esteemed Primary Schools in Newcastle.
- This role involves working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 classes, starting as soon as possible.
- The successful candidate will work with pupils exhibiting varied SEN and challenging behaviours.
- Therefore, resilience and excellent relationship-building skills are essential.
- This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Manage challenging behaviour positively, proactively, and consistently.
- Build positive relationships with Class Teachers to discuss and implement strategies and learning activities.
- Prepare resources for lessons.
- Supervise pupils during break times and lunch times as required.
- Engage actively with pupils, forming a positive rapport and supporting their learning needs.
Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS check (ideally on the Update Service, but we can process a new one if needed).
- A recognised Childcare-based qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- A resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
- Experience supporting students in classrooms is advantageous but not essential.
- High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
- A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
