We have a rewarding opportunity for two Community Support Workers (Positive Behaviour Support) to join our new service based in Wythenshawe, supporting young people and families across Manchester.
Working therapeutically within a person-centred PBS model you will support young people and families to stay together and thrive. Our ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for all those we support.
The service is based in Wythenshawe, Manchester however you will work across Manchester supporting several families.
As a specialist service there is a comprehensive package of training and support either internally within the Trust's Learning & Development Team or externally with our professional partners (which include social services and CAHMS).
The role includes……..
- Travelling throughout the Manchester area, you will visit a variety of settings that meets the young person's needs.
- Providing a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people.
- Assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans which includes working in partnership with other agencies.
- Maximise educational opportunities and achievements for the young people looked after within the service by assisting in identifying, establishing, and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
- Undertake individual work that is designed to meet the young person's needs as identified within the care plan, enabling them to reach their full potential.
- Under close supervision take responsibility for keyworking a case load of families.

We are looking for two Community Support Workers (Positive Behaviour Support) with a positive and enthusiastic approach, who are friendly, great communicators and eager to provide high levels of support to children and their families.
Do you thrive supporting young people with a diagnosis of autism, who may present with challenging behaviour, blending into family life? Do you have the skills to work in the community with both the young people and families to overcome some family challenges?
Are you able to work independently or as part of a team, maintaining and encouraging open and honest lines of communication? Can you undertake the full range of tasks, in a well-planned way that respects and values children and their families?

The service is regulated by Ofsted therefore all employees must be over the age of 22 years at the time of joining the service.

In order for the Trust to comply with the apprenticeship funding rules, it is a requirement of the role that the successful applicant must be able to evidence that (1) they have the right to work in the UK without additional approval for more than 20 hours each week throughout the year and (2) they have an eligible residency status for the purposes of the apprenticeship funding rules. In most cases this will mean that the individual needs to show that they have been ''ordinarily resident'' in particular countries (including the UK) at least 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship.
