Description
Job Purpose:

Onward Enterprises is a unique company offering a service to both the social care and the industrial sector as a Community Interest Company (not for profit).

The Senior Enabler is responsible for supervising the enabler role, working together as team to support both our social care and industrial customers. Enabling those who attend our service to gain "work experience" skills, within a person-centred approach, informed by individual "My Support Plans", aimed at promoting confidence and independence within the service Onward Enterprises provides. This will lead to progression and achievement of tasks and responsibilities within Onward Enterprises, providing skills and experience for those who wish to move onto voluntary or paid work in the future. Ensuring the emotional and physical wellbeing of those who attend our service, while fulfilling our commitment to our industrial customers, in line with Onward Enterprises ethos, policies, and procedures, ensuring a high standard of service for all.


Key Responsibilities


•To take the lead in the production area and be responsible for both service users and enablers.

•To provide and work with the enabler to plan, organise and set-up the "work experience" tasks gained through our day opportunity service for people with learning disabilities, on the autism spectrum, and with enduring mental health.


•To facilitate and work with the enabler, to actively support service users to participate and complete jobs according to suppliers' specification, through small group supervision, job coaching, Jigs (work aids), job buddies and quality control procedures.

•To work with the manager and enabler to assess, develop, and support individual "My Support Plans" and individual risk assessments and reviewing of those who attend our service.

•To work with the manager and enabler to support service users to achieve their individual goals and aspirations, within Onward Enterprises and for the future.

•To support the enabler to ensure service users physical and emotional wellbeing; this may include support with emergency personal care and medication in accordance with the individual's personal details form and Onward Enterprises policy and procedures.

•To support enabler to ensure individuals to maximise their potential and challenge any preconceived ideas of capabilities.

•To help create and maintain, within the staff team, practices which support the provision of a high-quality service to both social care and industry customers.

•To actively support visitors (educational, social care and industrial), taster days, induction day, work experience days and ensure these are conducted in a professional manner.

•To work within a team to support and monitor the workflow and production, managing the enabler to aid productivity when required to meet orders alongside their enabling role.

•To undertake any personal development and training (mandatory and otherwise) as required for the role.

•To take responsibility for own health, safety, and welfare and that of colleagues and services users including ensure good housekeeping standards in all areas of the site, conducting risk assessments, completing accident reports, and undertaking mandatory health and safety training.

•To support and complete appropriate administration records in line with Onward Enterprises systems, policies, and procedures in order to meet the business and internal and external audit requirements.

•To work in line with relevant employment legislation, policies, and procedures.

•To be flexible and be prepared to cover other roles as and when required. This may include providing forklift and driving skills, administering emergency personal care and medication to service users.
