Microbiology at SWLP is looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic, friendly team as a Registered Biomedical Scientist (Band 5). You will be deployed in Bacteriology. The department offers the latest equipment in the Microbiology field with three Kiestra lines, MALDI-ToF technology, Uri-system, BD FX and MGIT, BD Phoenix, EntericBio, Liaison XLs and new state of the art molecular diagnostic instruments.

The department also offers an extensive screening programme for latent TB for the London region.

The post holder will be expected to have good knowledge and experience of working in a clinical laboratory, with a completed IBMS registration portfolio.

You will be expected to participate in a 24/7 shift system which includes weekend, night, late and bank holiday working as part of hours.

As a Band 5 biomedical scientist you will rotate through various sections of Bacteriology laboratory, under the supervision of the Senior BMS. The laboratory is UKAS accredited.

After a period of suitable training you will take full part in a 24/7 rota including nights, late shifts and weekends.
