As Head of Workforce Supply, the post holder will lead and work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective workforce supply strategy for the east of England to grow our current and future multi-professional workforce through improved recruitment and retention initiatives, and maximising role utilisation in line with NHS Long Term Plan and regional priorities.

The post holder will be required to work in a matrix model across the directorate and with other regional and national teams. Key to this will be the establishment of relationships and working internally and externally with partners including Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and the Further Education (FE) sector.

The post holder will have accountability and responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the east of England workforce supply strategy and delivery plan. Plans to achieve the strategy will be underpinned by the delivery of short to medium-term objectives.

The core function of this role is to provide strategic direction and oversight for the design and implementation of a supply improvement programme, working strategically with other key functions, including, Retention, Postgraduate Medical Education, Clinical and Innovation teams. The supply portfolio will include international and domestic supply, is multi-professional and includes temporary and agency staffing and reservists.

Core objectives of this role will be to prioritise, based on regional/national need:
• Improved education and training pipelines
• Increased supply through recruitment, retention and utilisation of roles
• Explore innovative supply solutions through new routes into training and/or into employment
• Support education reform such that sufficient pipeline exists of individuals with the right skills, values and behaviours to meet future service needs
• Support expansion of medical training

The postholder may be expected to carry out other appropriate delegated duties as required.
