Brent based Secondary School are looking for support staff to support students with learning difficulties, ADHD/ EBD and ASD

A unique mainstream school with a SEN unit within a secondary school, based in Wembley, brent is recruiting an SEN learning support assistant.. The successful applicants will join a highly respected and effective team to start as soon as possible.
You will be responsible for working as part of the support team in class under the direction of the class teacher assisting classes and in small groups.
The school is filled with the best available resources to support progressive teaching and learning. The Head Teacher and SLT have worked tirelessly with the teaching and support staff to create an ethos which put simply is to develop an innovative and visionary inclusive approach. The school has needs which you will be required to support, such as hearing impairments, physical disabilities, and high medical needs. It is ideal you have experience dealing with young people with these needs in order to make sure they progress appropriately.
The school will invest heavily in your development and encourages career progression and professional development through regular CPD training. Permanent contracts will be offered to those who distinguish themselves - this is the way the school has recruited their TA staff for the last 4 years and the vast majority of those appointed will receive fulltime contracts.

In order to be considered for this role, the LSA / SEN TA will need to meet the following criteria:
- Have a qualification equivalent to degree level (ideally psychology or SEN)
- Have experience working with SEN (desirable)
- Willingness to undertake group intervention and 1:1 support
- Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
- Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
You must be a UK resident or hold a full UK visa and be willing to complete a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
