We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome Business Development Team as a Bid Development Partner. We oversee the development of new business as well as remodelling current services by creating quality, compelling bid responses and proposals. We’re ambitious and on the road to be a market leader in mental health and learning disabilities services and health innovations.

Typical day as a Bid Development Partner

  • Your successful bid writing skills will translate vision to sparky sector-leading tenders, whilst meeting commissioner requirements and reflecting our competitive strengths

  • You’ll maintain and continuously improve our knowledge management system to ensure consistent communication and presentation, enabling managers to self-serve.

  • You’ll use your analytical approach and quality writing skills to communicate complex information into compelling tenders and proposals that reflect our commissioner’s needs and showcase the best of Home Group’s services and practices.

  • Your extensive understanding of commissioning approaches used by local authorities and the NHS, along collaboration with colleagues in the organisation will lead to opportunities highlighted and risks identified and mitigated.

Fancy going home each day knowing that you have helped change our customers lives for the better? You’ll do that here, working for a top 10 Great Place to Work in the UK Employer!

You bring

  • Your first class written and communication skills, evidenced through your bid writing (or similar) experience

  • Experience in the bid-writing sector – even better if it’s within the care and supported housing sector!

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly and collaboratively, to meet business needs

  • Ideally your experience using a CRM system, knowledge management and continuous improvement practices

  • Your excellent IT package (MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) skills to create visually appealing content

  • To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!

Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role.  This remains under regular review.

Our team

You’ll join our Business Development Team including our Head, Darren, and Sarah our Lead BD Manager. We’re recruiting a couple of colleagues together, so you’ll have someone to learn with – don’t worry though, you’ll have the expertise of Darren and Sarah along with the rest of our experienced and supportive team to buddy and mentor you!

Job details

  • Flexible working hours (or we’re open to agreeing a work pattern with you)

  • You’ll manage your own diary, so if you need to take delivery of your new fridge or take a longer lunch for a haircut, you can use your flexi time to manage that!

  • Our team is spread nationally – so we take it in turns where we host our monthly face to face team meeting! Our offices are in Leeds, London, Birmingham and Newcastle, so every now and then you’ll be going further afield.

  • We also regularly visit services we’re supporting with tenders, so you’ll need to be okay with travelling (we cover train or milage expenses of course!)

A place where you belong

Great things happen when we can be ourselves at work. We want all our colleagues to be who they truly are here. Our internal diversity networks, peers and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) support us all to be our best. Together we make Home Group a great place to work!

What’s in it for you?

  • 34 days leave (this includes bank hols and a “me day” to use whenever you fancy) increasing to 39, the option to buy 5 more, and time off for volunteering too!

  • Health cash plan saving you from £1140 per annum. We’ll cover your costs (and kids if you have them) towards dental, optical, prescriptions, alternative therapies and lots more.

  • Over 800 high street discounts on groceries, holidays and days out. Looking for a new phone, bike or car? Save money with us.

  • Colleagues really matters to us, that’s why we’re the 10th Best place in the UK for Wellbeing. Our tools and support help you when you need them.
