Summary

About the Role

Swale Borough Council is looking to recruit an Administration Assistant on a 6 month fixed term basis to work within our Document Control Team providing support to the Revenues and Benefits section.

The successful candidate will ensure that all documents relating to benefit administration are scanned and indexed onto the Document Management System. You will provide other support, including sending out daily correspondence, identifying fraudulent documents and downloading benefit claim forms.

It is essential that you are either educated to GCSE standard at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English, or an equivalent qualification such as NVQ level 2 in a subject area such as Business and Finance or Administration, or that you have good experience in an administrative field.

You will be confident in using different IT systems and have knowledge and experience of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

The successful candidate will have good communication and team working skills and the ability to learn quickly. You must not be afraid to ask questions.

This is a full-time position on a fixed term contract for 6 months. This role is not eligible for sponsorship.

About You

You will be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision but also be a team player.

You will have experience of general administrative duties using various IT systems including Excel. You will have the ability to prioritise and manage workload to ensure deadlines are met.

Additionally, you will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to recognise and handle sensitive and confidential information.


Selection Process
