Location: Glasgow
Applicants must have experience of the following:
* Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
* A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in similar industries.
* Obtained or working towards Chartered accreditation with the IMechE is preferred.
* Works independently and collaborates with a high-performing team and stakeholders.
* Project management skills and a decision-maker, who can manage and prioritise multiple workloads simultaneously.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build effective relationships. Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, and encourages feedback from others.
* Effective problem-solving and analytical mindset, particularly in thermodynamics and fluid dynamics relevant to HVAC systems.
* Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices in HVAC system design.
* Experience with the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
* Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and BIM (Building Information Modelling) processes and tools.
Ideally applicants should also have:
Role information:
* Design and optimise HVAC system, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory standards.
* Prepare, check, and review HVAC engineering design documentation, including technical specifications, control philosophies, system philosophies, basis of design, HVAC and LEV calculations, datasheets, system layouts and ductwork design.
* Provide technical direction to engineering disciplines, project personnel and vendors.
* Undertake site surveys to develop the HVAC system design.
* Ensure HVAC design drawings and documents are completed within the allocated hours and schedule.
* Perform load and energy calculations to determine HVAC system requirements.
* Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate HVAC systems into building designs.
* Conduct energy audits and propose retrofit solutions for existing HVAC systems to improve efficiency.
* Participate in research and development activities for advanced HVAC technologies and sustainable practices.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for HVAC-related issues during project execution and post-installation phases.
