We are developing a dedicated team for Anti-Social Behaviour and Neighbourhood Management, which will work within the Housing Residential Services team.
We are looking for a Neighbourhood Housing Officer to help deliver our response to Anti-Social Behaviour and provide an effective neighbourhood management service. Your ‘can-do’ approach will help you to achieve the right outcomes. If you have passion for this type of work it can be very rewarding, and you’ll have a great team around you who will be working towards the same goals.
You’ll be dealing with issues of harassment, noise, tenant behaviour and a variety of issues whilst acting as a regular and visible presence on our housing estates and neighbourhoods. The key to delivering a great service to our residents is by focusing on preventative and early intervention methods to reduce incidents of ASB. To achieve this, effective communication and the ability to provide clear explanations of how reports will be managed will be essential.
In cases of Anti Social Behaviour NFDC follow a risk based approach to reports and when necessary you’ll need to lead on the Council’s multi agency response to supporting victims and encouraging alleged perpetrators to change their behaviour.
About you
You’ll need to have previous experience and knowledge of tackling Anti-Social Behaviour within a social housing environment, as well as a proven record of building relationships amongst residents.
You’ll need to have experience in managing tenancy breaches in a litigation context as well as experience in taking witness statements and instructing solicitors.
Due to the fast-changing landscape of social housing regulation you’ll need to keep up to date with best practice, statutory and regulatory guidance.
This is a challenging and diverse role that requires great ICT skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
Strong communication skills are required to effectively liaise with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies on a daily basis.
You will also possess very good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise different work activities to meet changing deadlines.
The role will require travel so you will need a full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work. When not out and about in the community you will be able to base yourself from home or one of our offices.
What’s in it for you?
£28,905 - £36,955 per annum (pay award pending)
24 – 27 days annual leave per annum, plus an additional 5 days for 5 years local authority continuous service.
Local Government pension scheme
Employee Assistance Programme (free 24 hour legal, financial and personal advice for employees).
On site parking
Hybrid working is available in this role but requires a percentage of the working week to be in the office and the other percent home/remote.
Cycle to Work scheme which could save you around 40 percent on cycles and accessories
Please note for business continuity it is essential that if systems fail that staff due to work from home attend the office to work.
