Meat Hygiene Inspectors
Isle of Man – North of Douglas
Eville and Jones is the sole provider of Official Controls to the Food Standards Agency. We also provide an ever-growing array of services to both the public and private sector including Export Certification, portal inspection, training, and consultancy.
We are looking to recruit 2 dedicated and enthusiastic candidates as Meat Hygiene Inspectors to work in a slaughterhouse north of Douglas, who will commit to our ideology of product hygiene and safety.
What will you do:
The Meat Hygiene Inspector role focuses around inspecting post-mortem meat for any signs of disease or food safety concerns. This position will be based in a slaughterhouse, so candidates must be comfortable in this environment.
You will help the Official Veterinarian check that live animals are all healthy and inspect carcasses to make sure that no nasty diseases are present. This is a very important role as you will be responsible for the safety of the public who purchase meat products.
The roles are working 37 hours per week shifts on hours between 6.30am and 4.00pm – Monday to Friday.
Ideally you should have at least 1 year experience working with red meat slaughter lines – although training can be provided.
We are looking for individuals who are able to start from 1 position in September 2024 and 1 position in November 2024 for an initial 6-month contract
Due to the nature of this role all applicants must hold a full driving licence and have your own right to work.
