We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and adaptable clinician to join our friendly Community Dental Service team as a Band A salaried dentist. The service is part of Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust, providing a variety of specialised dental services across Northumberland and North Tyneside. There is a referral base of approximately 70 GP’s.
Responsibilities will include the provision of comprehensive high quality dental care for priority groups. In addition to routine treatment, it is expected that the post holder would provide dental treatment under general anaesthetic, inhalation sedation and complete domiciliary care. Training will be provided as required.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. Leading in innovation and quality – opening a state of the art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. Do you want to work in one of the best performing NHS organisations in England? Work in an organisation that supports its staff and focuses on staff experience as much as it does the experience of its patients? You can live and breathe in an area that has the cleanest air, cost effective living, great nightlife, some of the best schools with a wealth of history available on your doorstep. Sound too good to be true? Well it isn’t, this is what you get when you work for Northumbria Healthcare, this is the Northumbria Way! Please read ‘applicant guidance notes’ before submitting your application.
A degree in Dental Surgery and current registration with the General Dental Council is essential, along with a minimum of 12 months post qualification experience.
Applicants must be currently on the NHS dental performers list. This post is not suitable for clinical supervision due to the geographical spread of the dental clinics.
Staff are encouraged and supported to participate in post graduate activities and clinical audit; there are excellent opportunities for continuing professional development. The post holder will be expected to work at sites across the Trust, therefore it is essential that you have the ability to travel independently between clinical sites.
The post will be subject to a DBS check.
This is a Trust-wide appointment however a job plan will be agreed on appointment and a base clinic allocated
The post is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Salaried Primary Dental care Services (England) 2008.
