We have an exciting opportunity to join our Elective Orthopaedic and MSK teams at the new build Heatherwood Hospital as a static band 6 physiotherapist. The post will involve a weekend working commitment to support the 7 day elective orthopaedic service.

You should have MSK and orthopaedic experience either at Band 5 or Band 6 level and be confident assessing and treating a range of MSK conditions.
You should be proactive, approachable and keen to develop your clinical knowledge and supervisory skills.
You will manage your own caseload in MSK and line manage junior Physiotherapists / Assistant Practitioners. You will be involved in the supervision and teaching of students. You will take part in team and departmental IST's and there will be opportunities to assist with departmental audits and service development.

PURPOSE OF JOB:
• To provide a high standard physiotherapy service in assessing and treating patients who may have a complex presentation
• To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists/technicians/assistants and students and be involved in teaching MDT staff
• To participate in CPD and other departmental activities
• To work across both inpatient orthopaedics services (day surgery/inpatient and private unit) and the outpatient musculoskeletal team.
• To be responsible for the smooth running of the unit, delegating workload to other members of the orthopaedic/musculoskeletal team alongside/in the absence of the team leader
• To participate in the Orthopaedic Team 7 day working rota, working an average of 1 long weekend in 4.
