Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a district general hospital based approximately 12 miles from central London. The hospital is situated in a beautiful and historic part of the country and lies very close to Richmond Park, Hampton Court Palace and Kempton Park. The hospital supports around 350,000 people in the surrounding area from the boroughs of Kingston, Richmond, Roehampton, Putney, Merton and East Elmbridge.
We have approximately 600 beds and directly employ around 2,700 staff, with another 300 staff employed by contractors but working on behalf of the Trust. We are located on a single site in Kingston upon Thames, but run a number of outpatient clinics in sites across our catchment area including Raynes Park Health Centre, Surbiton Centre for Health, Queen Mary's Roehampton and Teddington Memorial Hospital.
We provide a full range of diagnostic and treatment services and have a national reputation for innovative developments in healthcare, particularly in 'patient-focused' care, day surgery and maternity services.
The department of Trauma and Orthopaedics is seeking to appoint a Trust Grade CT level doctor to join our busy team, working alongside 14 consultants and 9 specialist registrars. This post will join the established 1 in 8 Orthopaedic on call rota with our 6 CT/ 2 F2 trainees. We have 2 full time Orthogeriatric Consultants, with 4 ward based middle grade doctors providing joint care for all of our elderly patients. We are a dedicated cohesive multi-disciplinary team and strive for excellence in all aspects of the service.
As a department we invest in our team and promote training and education opportunities as well as supporting career progression. We are proud of the rota we offer our junior doctors, which ensures a balance of elective and emergency duties across all lines. This will include clinics, theatre and on call responsibilities. All Trust Grade doctors have timetables equivalent to our training doctors with an allocated training budget.
