Our digital teams are currently developing solutions for iPad and iPhone to support our front line examiners undertaking driver tests, and roadside enforcement checks. We also continuously improve the MOT service used in over 20,000 garages in the UK to deliver over 30 million MOT tests each year. You’d be involved in these key projects helping keep Britain’s roads safe!

As a Dev Ops Engineer you will support the development team’s aim of delivering change at pace, playing a pivotal role in optimisation and architectural input for large-scale DVSA digital services.

You will be looking to improve and maintain the digital platform as part of a team within the DVSA. Experience testing and troubleshooting platform problems is essential along with automation of repetitive tasks. You will be expected to help maintain the pre-production environments that application teams rely on and lead timely issue resolutions.

You will be working with cloud computing services, infrastructure as code using continuous deployment to effectively deliver user based solutions to our customers, whilst ensuring environments are robust and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designing technical solutions to enable the automation, deployment and operation of significant cloud infrastructure.
  • Contributing to the design, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure that is scalable, resilient, open, efficient, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of technical tasks and solutions from initial concept to delivery to the production environment.
  • Build solutions as part of an Agile team that meet the user requirements taking ownership of the journey to live.
  • Participates in stand-ups, planning sessions and retrospectives, using technical expertise to help form solutions and understanding technical dependencies between team tasks.
