Summary

F. Bamford (Engineering) Ltd, known in the industry as Bamford Doors, specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of custom made, aluminium communal security doors and screens.

Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit an assistant installer to our team in Milton Keynes.

The Role

To work with the experienced team leader as an assistant, in the Installation of our products on a regional basis. As part of the team you will be working across customer sites, with occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

-Working as part of a team alongside an experienced team leader
-Assist in the loading and unloading of installation vehicles ensure all materials required to complete the job are loaded safely and securely and checked against relevant paperwork
-Removal and existing doors, screen, windows as per company procedures.
-Preparation of apertures to accept the new units
-Fixing of new units, ensure correct location, level, including fitting of glazing, GRP panels, letter boxes.
-Sealing of new units to ensure they are weather right
-Operating various hand tools and power tools
-Keeping the working environment clean and tidy including tidying up and clearing away of debris and left over materials.
-Various aspects of basic building work
-Interacting with customers, sub contractors, tenants and other trades
-Working to company procedures and health and safety regulations
-Working at height, ladders and scaffold etc

Person specification - The successful candidate will need to meet the following criteria:-

-Work well as part of a small team
-Be organised, methodical and proactive with the ability to problem solve
-Be able to think on their feet
-Be healthy and safety conscious
-Be committed to completing work to a high standard
-Be reliable and punctual
-Able to follow instructions
-Willing and keen to learn

Requirements
Essential
-Full and clean driving licence
-Complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS)
-Hold or willing to complete health and safety training including first aid, working at height, asbestos awareness, face fit, manual handling etc.

Desirable
-Hold a construction skill certification scheme (CSCS card)
-Experience/Qualifications in Fenestration, carpentry, Joinery, site work, basic building experience

Full time role working hours are 08.00 - 16.45 Monday to Friday including a lunch break (40 hours per week) the hours need to be flexible to accommodate / support client needs.

Rate of pay £11.44 – 13.38 per hour depending on experience
Over time at an enhanced rate, where required to complete installations
Working away expenses
Holidays 25 days per annum (50 shifts) plus bank holidays
Pension scheme - auto enrolment
Annual pay reviews
SSP
Subject to a 3-month probationary period
