Morson Talent are recruiting for marine welders for work with thier Plymouth based client. This is a varied role that may require work on ships, submarines or within factory environments.
Essential experience of the Welder:
• You will need the ability to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop tools & machinery specific to welding.
• Ideally you will have worked in the marine engineering industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience from other engineering sectors will be considered.
• Experience of working within marine engineering environment
Qualifications for the Welder:
• Time served apprentice within the field of marine engineering / naval engineering environment
• Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to the role
• Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship
• Level 3 Engineering qualification relevant to the role
Skills required for the role:
• Competent within some or all of the following – FCAW, MMA,
• Be able to undertake regular welding re-qualification to meet required standards
This role is intially for a 6 month period to start as soon as possible.
35 Standard hours a week, shift and overtime a possibility but never guaranteed.
In order to be successful in this role you will need to be able to obtain MOD security clearance.
