Summary


We now have a vacancy for a full time Ward Clerk to work on the Wolstenholme Unit at Rochdale Infirmary.

The post holder will provide a wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward / unit staff.

They will be responsible for the safe keeping and availability of all clinical records relating to patients and the smooth running of the ward / department office. They will also provide general assistance to the ward / Unit Manager.

Analytical and Judgmental Skills


General clerical duties as required within the department.

Ensure patient case notes are available, maintained and up to date.

Data input on the Patient Administration System (PAS), in line with Trust procedures and policies.

Responsibility for Patient Care

Commitment to providing a high-quality patient focused service

Provide general non-clinical advice, information, and guidance of ancillary services directly to patients, clients, relatives, and carers.

Deliver and collect patient’s case notes, and if applicable x-rays, and investigations results from various locations throughout the hospital.

Accurately file reports, notes & results efficiently.

Participate in any new directions, which ensure smooth running of the service.

Responsibilities for Financial and Physical Resources

Ensure all ordering for the unit is completed timely whilst always considering the financial impact on the unit.

To attend and support one to one appraisal meetings


Responsibility for Information Resources

To accurately process, record, store and maintain patient information on the relevant in-house IT systems.

To accurately organise and communicate to patient using appropriate means

Ability to maintain confidentiality and apply data protection principles

To provide typing and photocopying support within the Wolstenholme team
