Your role and responsibilities:
You will:
- source and match placements for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and Young People in Care (UASC) ensuring they are meeting all cultural and language needs.
- work with both internal and external professionals and the external provider market negotiating suitable individual packages for Children and Young People, ensuring contract compliance and financial accountability.
- support the wider placements team including oversight of the placement officer with the Supported Accommodation specialism.
You will need:
- to be a Team Player
- understand customer needs and know how to deliver a good customer service experience
- have good communication and IT skills, with an ability to contribute to a team approach
- have the ability to work confidently under your own initiative and work independently to resolve a range of issues
- show accuracy and a keen eye for detail
- have excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work to achieve deadlines and team objectives.

The team
The Corporate Parenting Placements and Contract Team are a Countywide operational service which undertake the placement finding and matching with associated purchasing arrangements and in-house resources for children and young people. The team undertakes recording, quality assurance and contract monitoring of all placements & associated support services, including the provision of supported accommodation, foster, respite, residential and bespoke packages.
Within the wider team the Placements Team are responsible for finding and matching placements for Children in Care which will include UASC. Each officer has a generic role in making the required placements but also the development of specialist knowledge and relationships within that.
You will be offered on-going training and opportunities to gain knowledge and experience.
