Porters are an essential part of the Hospital team and their primary aim is the welfare of the patients, either directly or indirectly. They carry out all the necessary Portering services in the hospital.
The role of Porter is a highly valued and demanding role. You will need to have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing health care environment. You will be an essential part of the team, providing a comprehensive service to the hospital.
You will be a hardworking, reliable and organised team player with good communication skills with the experience of working in a busy environment where workloads are prioritised in accordance to service needs.
The ability to understand and interpret instructions is essential for this post as is a clean and tidy appearance.
Working under the supervision of the Controller, Porters assist the Shift Facilities Manager in providing an efficient Portering / Courier service.
A Porter supports the smooth running of our hospitals.
Duties include hands on general Portering, patient transfers, collection of bloods, collection of Pharmacy items and distribution of patient linen out of hours.
Delivery and collection of medical gases and medical equipment.
