Craft Attendant Jointer
Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging role in the power industry? Do you have a passion for working with electricity and ensuring safe and reliable supplies for our customers? If so, you might be the craft attendant jointer we are looking for!
UK Power Networks is a leading distribution network operator, serving over eight million customers across London, the South East and the East of England. We are responsible for maintaining and upgrading the power lines, cables, substations and equipment that deliver electricity to homes and businesses. We are committed to providing excellent service, investing in our people and infrastructure, and supporting the transition to a low-carbon future.
As a craft attendant jointer, you will work alongside a qualified jointer to carry out jointing work on the low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) distribution network. This includes repairing faults, network alterations and new connection work. You will also assist in restoring LV supplies as part of fault working and system emergencies. You will observe the work in progress and ensure correct procedures are followed with regard to personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.
This role is based in our Canning Town office and involves working on a 24 hour shifted pattern. You will report to the field staff supervisor and work within the network operations team. You will be a permanent employee of UK Power Networks and enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for training and career development.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
- A full UK driving licence
- Some experience or interest in working with electricity
- A basic understanding of health and safety regulations
- A good level of physical fitness and manual dexterity
- A willingness to learn and follow instructions
- A team player attitude and good communication skills
