We at L S BUILDER LEICESTER LTD, are looking for various positions to fill as a result of a growing demand for our services in the full building work construction sector. Due to the increase in demand in the construction market, we as a company are expanding ever so much and would like to hire Roofers and roof tilers to meet and deliver our huge customer needs. We have been in the business for more than 2 years in Leicester. As a Roofers you will be responsible for one of the most important elements of construction within the housing industry. DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITY
1. Inspection and Assessment
- Roof Inspections: Roofers assess the condition of roofs to identify any issues such as leaks, damage, or wear.
- Damage Evaluation: They evaluate the extent of damage and determine the necessary repairs or replacements.
2. Installation of Roofing Materials
- Material Application: Roofers install various types of roofing materials, including shingles, tiles, metal panels, and membranes.
- Layering and Sealing: They ensure proper layering and sealing of roofing materials to prevent leaks and ensure durability.
3. Roof Repairs
- Leak Repairs: Roofers fix leaks by repairing or replacing damaged sections of the roof.
- Replacing Damaged Materials: They replace broken or missing shingles, tiles, or other roofing components.
4. Maintenance Work
-Routine Maintenance: Roofers perform regular maintenance to extend the life of the roof, including cleaning gutters, removing debris, and checking for signs of wear.
- Preventive Measures: They apply treatments or coatings to protect the roof from weather damage and aging.
5. Installation of Flashing and Underlayment
- Flashing Installation: Roofers install flashing around roof edges, chimneys, and vents to prevent water infiltration.
- Underlayment Application: They apply underlayment materials that provide an additional layer of protection beneath the roofing material.
6. Safety Compliance
- Use of Safety Equipment: Roofers use safety harnesses, scaffolding, and other protective equipment to prevent accidents while working at heights.
- Adherence to Safety Standards: They follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure their own safety and that of others on the job site.
7. Site Preparation and Cleanup
- Preparation: Roofers prepare the site by setting up ladders, scaffolding, and covering areas to protect from debris.
- Cleanup: They clean up the job site after completing work, including removing old materials, nails, and other debris.
8. Communication and Reporting
- Client Communication: Roofers communicate with clients to discuss the scope of work, provide updates, and address any concerns.
- Reporting: They report to supervisors or project managers about the progress of the work and any issues encountered.
9. Preparation of Roof Surface
- Surface Inspection: Roof tilers inspect and prepare the roof surface, ensuring it is clean, dry, and suitable for tiling.

10. Tile Installation
-Tile Placement: Roof tilers lay tiles in specific patterns and configurations, ensuring they are properly aligned and spaced.
- Securing Tiles: They secure the tiles to the roof using adhesives, nails, or other fastening methods, depending on the type of tile and roofing system.
11. Cutting and Shaping Tiles
- Tile Cutting: Roof tilers cut tiles to fit around edges, corners, and obstacles such as chimneys or vents.
- Shaping and Adjusting: They shape and adjust tiles as necessary to ensure a proper fit and finish.
12. Installation of Roof Accessories
- Ventilation and Flashing: Roof tilers install accessories like ventilation systems, flashing, and drip edges to ensure proper functionality and protection.
- Gutter Installation: They may also install or repair gutters and downspouts as part of the roofing system.
13. Inspection and Quality Control

14. Maintenance and Repair

SALARY AND BENEFITS :
Range : £33000 to £39000 per year, depending on experience. Working 38 hours a week.
Working: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 4:30pm
