The vacancy is restricted to applicants who currently live in Fife. You must be aged between 16 and 24 and therefore you must not have attained the age of 25 before your start date as a Modern Apprentice.

Salary - £22,525 - £23,633 (50% of salary in year one rising to 80% in year two.)

A Modern Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that leads to an industry approved qualification.  The training can be both on and off-the-job, which means Modern Apprentices (MAs) learn the right mix of skills, abilities and knowledge while working towards achieving an SVQ2 Business & Administration qualification.

The apprentice will work, under supervision, to provide an efficient fleet business support service in a professional manner in line with Fleet Services business requirements, including:

Data/Word processing using Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc for the issue of fuel fobs, operator licence discs, road tax renewals etc.

Financial transactions using the Council’s financial systems eg Oracle, Ash Debtors.

Dealing appropriately with internal/external customer queries eg providing routine information from computerised information systems. Where possible respond directly to enquiries from other Services or contacts, if unable to resolve pass enquiry to relevant member of staff.

You should have a minimum of 3 National 4s, to include English and Maths OR 3 Intermediate 1’s, to include English and Maths OR equivalent Core Skills at SCQF Level 4.
