Crynodeb

The East Midlands Planned Care Centre (EMPCC) is a new facility at Leicester General Hospital, designed to play a key role in reducing the
number of people with long waits for treatment. The EMPCC gives UHL a unique opportunity to transform how we deliver planned care services
across the region. Our ambition supports excellence, innovation and patient choice, leading the way regionally and nationally to establish the centre as a benchmark for others. Crucially, the EMPCC will enable us to continue to
deliver planned care even during the busiest periods for the parts of our hospital which focus on urgent and emergency care. This means we expect to see around 100,000 units of patient activity every year, focusing on high volume, low complexity activity.
We are now recruiting to our administration team for the Medical Daycase Unit at EMPCC which opens in December 2024. We would encourage anyone looking for a new challenge, wanting to work in a dynamic team, in brand new, state of the art facilities to embrace this exciting opportunity.

We need a highly motivated Band 4 Admin Team Leader to join us. The MDCU will provide treatments for gastroenterology, haematology and oncology patients but we expect this to grow and evolve over time. It will be a fast paced environment and will require a highly motivated and adaptable candidate.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:

· Extensive experience of administration processes, including managing bookings and dealing with the public

· Excellent communication skills

· Displaying excellent analytical ability and sound decision making in changing situations

· Working as an effective team member and promoting team and interdisciplinary relationships

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
