Crynodeb
Applications are invited for a clinical fellow in advanced endoscopy and gastroenterology for 12 months (subject to a satisfactory 6 month report) with the option to extend the role to 24 months. This post is aimed at senior Gastroenterology trainees or CCT holders (or equivalent) and provides an opportunity to develop advanced endoscopic techniques and endoscopy training skills. The post also provides the opportunity for the development of other areas of interest in Gastroenterology such as specialist IBD clinics, specialist hepatology clinics, capsule endoscopy and endoscopy research. This is a second endoscopy fellow position and the structure of the post is based on the successful existing fellow post. The post consists of 50% service endoscopy and 50% training and development in advanced endoscopy and others aspects of gastroenterology that will be tailored to the successful candidate. Applicants will only be considered if they are able to perform independent colonoscopy (including level 2 polypectomy) and have JAG certification (or equivalent) for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy. Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital have strong reputations for performing high quality endoscopy and endoscopy training. There are many opportunities for the successful applicant to further their endoscopic and training skills. We are not able to offer ERCP or EUS training as part of the Clinical Fellow post. This post is an ideal platform for trainees reaching the end of their training and wanting to develop their endoscopic, gastroenterology and research skills in preparation for applying for consultant posts.
