In Adult Social Care, we want the workforce, our most valuable asset, to be skilled and confident to enable them to deliver good quality care and support to people who use adult social care in Wakefield.



If you have experience in learning and development, you may just be the person to help us to develop a thriving workforce for our service!



You’ll work closely with team managers in developing bespoke learning and development solutions to ensure our workforce meet both statutory and regulatory requirements, oversee the commissioning of all training, develop and review Learning and Development Frameworks and support our workforce to access a wide variety of apprenticeships that we offer.



You will promote adult social care as a career of choice, and support workforce planning initiatives to meet the current and future needs of the adult social care workforce.



You will also work closely with partners delivering integrated health and social care workforce transformation initiatives.

What will be expected from me?



Overall purpose of the post



To manage the advice and support of the delivery of an effective and high-quality learning and development service by leading the identification, design, development, commissioning, implementation, delivery, evaluation and quality assurance of appropriate learning and development activities to ensure statutory, regulatory and mandatory compliance
To initiate, develop and manage a diverse range of digital learning and development solutions to meet the business needs of the organisation, ensuring access for all and their timely delivery within an agreed budget.
To support the Strategy, Workforce & Transformation Manager in supporting workforce planning and development responses on behalf of Wakefield Adult Social Care in relation to national and regional initiatives and the Adult Social Care Priorities.
To support the Strategy, Workforce & Transformation Manager in the development and implementation of the Wakefield District Health & Care Partnership’s workforce development initiatives.


Essential Requirements



Qualified to Diploma Level 5 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline or significant experience of working in relevant discipline.



Qualified to Diploma Level 3 in Management or equivalent or significant management experience.
