About this opportunity

An exciting Director level opportunity has become available to lead our Capital Issuance and Planning team in Treasury. This is a great opportunity for a driven, dynamic individual to join a fast-paced team and further their career with significant opportunities to influence and work with senior management.

The team sits in the broader Term Issuance and Capital Structuring team in Treasury. The team owns the Group's capital markets activity, responsible for the Group's wholesale debt issuance across public and private senior unsecured notes and covered bonds as well as the execution of AT1 and Tier 2. The team also manages the engagement with the regulator on capital topics, supports the Debt IR team with SME knowledge on capital topics, structure and implement the Group's Share Buyback programme, and own the Group and its material subsidiaries' capital plans.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the development of the Group's capital plans and strategy, including capital forecasting, risk appetite and target setting.

  • Manage intra-group dividend recommendations to the relevant Boards on a quarterly basis.

  • Leading the delivery of high quality and insightful MI and strategic analysis for a variety of senior stakeholders including the Group Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer.

  • Manage the regulatory engagement with the regulator on Capital and MREL topics.

  • Developing your knowledge of wider Treasury activities and building a network both in Treasury and with our key partners throughout the wider Group.

  • Supporting projects with the broader Capital and Term issuance, and Treasury teams.

  • Shaping the culture of the team and supporting the leadership team in making Treasury a great place to work.

What you'll need

  • In depth knowledge of regulatory capital and MREL topics, and/or capital planning.

  • Experience of working in a Treasury function within a fast-paced organisation.

  • Experience presenting to a range of stakeholders within the organisation.

  • Risk focussed mindset and approach to managing the team's work, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong collaboration skills, including a proactive approach to building and maintaining relationships across a range of internal and external colleagues.

  • High-energy, solution-orientated, self-motivated and show intellectual curiosity.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Experience of bond issuance processes and/or working in credit or other financial markets.

  • Experience mentoring and developing colleagues.

  • Experience working with external stakeholders.
