Flexibility considered for an exceptional candidate, subject to qualifications, skills and experience.
Full time, 37 hours per week, permanent contract.
Annual salary: Competitive.
Have you got a proven track record of working as a skilled Finance Manager with a strong analytical mindset?
Would you like to work for a people-centric, values-driven, ambitious and inclusive college?
East Sussex College is a Further Education College with over 1,300 colleagues and over 5,500 students. We offer a broad curriculum including A Levels, T-levels, work based, 14-19, HE and adult programmes with campuses in Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes and Newhaven. This is an exciting time to join us as we grow and develop even stronger pathways for our students and communities.
This exciting role will include:
• Oversight of the financial operations within the college ensuring efficient financial management and cost-effective practices.
• Analysis and preparation of financial reports and forecasts providing accurate financial information to senior management.
• Collaboration with various departments to improve financial performance and support strategic decision making.
• Supporting the Executive Director of Finance in continuing to secure and improve the College’s financial health.
If you can demonstrate the following then we’d love to hear from you:
• Strong technical skills and analytic abilities alongside experience of producing financial reports.
• Experience of understanding business requirements and the ability to deliver financial information easily to non-finance colleagues.
• Experience of financial controls, budget setting and financial planning in a complex/multi-site organisation.
• Recognised accounting degree or qualification and experience of the public sector preferably education.
We can offer you:
• A competitive salary, a wide range of generous benefits, as well as flexible working opportunities.
• Rewarding employment in a high performing, professional environment, working with over 1,200 like-minded and friendly colleagues.
• Continuing Professional Development, with access to funded teaching qualifications, apprenticeships and a range of other training courses to support career development.
• The opportunity to make a difference to the lives of students of all ages within the largest Further Education (FE) College in East Sussex (judged GOOD by Ofsted in 2021).
