About the Company
Our client is an international insurance group with offices around the globe. They're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work alongside their DBA team and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Design and enhance on-premises infrastructure to achieve optimal performance and security, employing infrastructure as code methodology.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to a small team of DevOps engineers, fostering the development of innovative solutions.
- Implement blue/green deployment techniques for critical systems in production environments.
- Support and enhance source code using Terraform and PowerShell, along with managing Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Create tailored Virtual Machine images for VMware and Azure utilising automation tools like Packer.
- Actively engage in scrum team activities to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Streamline and automate processes to boost efficiency within the IT DevOps team, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
- Work with DevOps teams to execute system changes, focusing on security and compliance.
- Oversee Terraform configurations for cloud-hosted services.
- Manage OKD and Azure Kubernetes clusters across various locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Proficient in developing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions using Terraform.
- Skilled in Azure Cloud Services, including Network, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
- Knowledgeable in creating custom VM images with Packer.
- Proficient in PowerShell scripting.
- Familiar with test automation practices.
- Experience in containerisation using Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift.
- Familiarity with Log Analytics, Microsoft Security Center, and Sentinel, would be preferable.
- Experience in agile practices and participation in scrum teams.
