Summary


Exciting opportunities exist for dental clinical assistants to join the team at UHBW. The successful candidate will be required to assist the dental nursing team with the smooth throughput of workload on the departments. Duties may include managing the flow of instrumentation for patient clinics, chaperoning, supporting the preparedness of the clinics for patient treatments, supporting the flow of patients around the building. Full training will be given.

The role offers excellent career progression opportunities with the potential for the right person to develop their knowledge and skills which could contribute towards an application for dental nursing.

The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to working hours, duties will be across the working week.

Good communication skills are essential, as well as empathetic approach to patients. You will work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the patients of Bristol experience a high standard of service and a good patient journey. Previous experience of working in the NHS would be an advantage.

This post would be based mainly in the Bristol Dental Hospital, though; on occasion there may be some duties at the South Bristol Community Hospital.

We have 3 positions available through-out the Bristol Dental Hospital.
• Child Dental Health Department 0.4 WTE required days of work Mon and Tue.
• Oral Maxilla Facial Department 1.0 WTE Mon - Fri
• Children's General Anaesthetic Department 0.8WTE Mon- Thur.

The post holder will be guided by the dental nursing team re the designated work areas they will work in and will be responsible for ensuring they participate/contribute to the efficient use of resources and safe working practices.

The post holder will support the clinical team in the provision of safe, high quality patient care that meets the needs of the patients accessing our services.

The post holder will be accountable for the collection, delivery and transfer of instrumentation to clinics within University of Bristol Dental Hospital.

The post holder will support the distribution of clinical supplies across the clinical departments.

The post holder will support the clinical team with the preparation and maintenance of the clinical departments The post holder will undertake all on the job training as is deemed necessary for them to carry out their duties within the department in a safe manner.

The post holder will be expected to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

Some additional training opportunities could be offered to the successful candidate, This will include training to support our ultrasound outpatient clinics to phlebotomy.
