Hours: 4 hours/week during term time (Saturdays), 15 hours/week during school holidays
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and sympathetic Personal Assistant to support Magnus, a college-age young man with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and speech & language communication needs. This role involves accompanying M. on outings locally or further afield, primarily on Saturday afternoons during term time and weekdays during college holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and accompany M. on enjoyable outings, ensuring he has a fulfilling social life.
• Provide guidance and support in a calm and patient manner, with a focus on safety, particularly on personal and road safety.
• Engage M. in creative activities and experiences, encouraging him to explore new interests.
• Take M. on walks.
About M.:
M. is an easy-going young man who enjoys being out and about, though he is also a homebody at heart. He is well-behaved, listens closely to adult guidance, and does not have behavioural issues. M. has three younger siblings who are often busy, so this role is essential in helping him maintain an active and interesting social life.
Who We're Looking For:
• Experience working with teens, particularly those with ASD.
• DBS Checked.
• Creative and resourceful, with the ability to plan engaging and enjoyable outings.
• Patient, empathetic, and understanding of Magnus’s communication needs.
• A lover of dogs and the outdoors.
• PA must be able to drive and have their own car.
