We have an exciting opportunity to join a heritage-focused project team developing plans for Market Chambers, a new cultural space in the centre of Accrington. You’ll help to shape the future vision and design of the new venue, transforming our heritage offer, and making a huge impact on Hyndburn’s cultural experience. The project is at the development stage of a National Lottery Heritage Funded project and is part of our ambitious plans for a heritage-led regeneration of Accrington Town Centre and the wider Borough.
What we’re looking for
The full requirements for the role are set out in our candidate information pack, but here’s a taste of what you’ll need to demonstrate:
a degree or equivalent experience in related field;
knowledge of national policy and developments across the Culture, Heritage & Arts sector; and
relevant experience including museum collections, documentation and exhibition work, or museum outreach work
skills in relationship-building with key stakeholders and residents
the ability to meet project deadlines
What we offer
Flexible Working: The role is for up to 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday, but we pride ourselves on our flexible approach to working arrangements and we’ll consider any alternatives that we think would work, in terms of helping us provide a responsive service. This can include some homeworking. There’s likely to be some weekend or evening work due to the nature of the role, for which you’ll be able to take time off on another day.
Generous Benefits: Enjoy flexible working hours, a generous holiday entitlement (with the option to “buy” extra days), learning and development opportunities and comprehensive support when you need it
Financial Security: Join our local government pension scheme and also benefit from our life insurance coverage
Personal Well-being: Access our 24/7 employee assistance program, including professional counselling support for you and your household members
Closing Date: 12 noon Monday 9 September 2024
