Summary

Finance Product Manager: £52,412 - £67,492, 28.97% pension contributions, hybrid working, flexible hours and professional learning.

We're looking for someone with experience of Product Management in a Finance context to join our team.

You'll be working on delivering one of the biggest, cross-cutting changes to the way the UK Civil Service works in decades - The Synergy Programme.

The Synergy Programme is a change programme covering the UK's biggest government departments; Ministry of Justice, Department for Work and Pensions, Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Home Office.

Your work will impact the procurement arrangements for Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) and Business Process Services for the next 15 years, impacting over 50% of all Civil Servants - that's 230,000 people across the four departments and arm's length bodies.

We're working to make sure that we get the best value, most efficient and fastest service across business-critical human resources, finance, payroll and procurement tools and transactions.

Your work will affect everything we do, from joining a department as a new starter, the way we claim for expenses, how we buy goods and services such as our laptops and canteen provisions, to the way we receive our pensions when we retire.

We have 3 roles available, working on different teams:

Future Shared Services Organisation (FSSO): You'll work on designing and delivering the future state for our Shared Services products and services. This is what Shared Services will look like once the Synergy Programme achieves it's goals and once we're into live running.

Business Process Services (BPS): This role is all about developing how the relationship with and service from our Business Process Services provider will work, so supplier management, and experience of contacts is key.

Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP): You'll be helping us deliver Finance process convergence and the design, testing and deployment of the new Synergy ERP system and related services. Previous experience of implementing a new ERP is important for this role.

We need people who can streamline procurement to drive out error, waste and duplication, who are good with stakeholders and managing change.

We're particularly interested in applications if you have experience of ERP, BPS or FSSO implementations.

Your skills and experience

  • Strong Finance background with functional understanding of the interdependencies across the different Finance processes, and how these processes are delivered and designed.
  • Experience of managing or working with ERP systems with a good understanding of how finance master data supports and enables cross functional services and reporting, with prior experience implementing or migrating of ERP platforms like Oracle eBusiness suite.

  • Experience of successful management and change of complex ERP processes and of developing vendor relationships.
  • Experience of scoping, designing, and implementing complex change and transition programmes and projects across multiple organisations.
  • Understanding of the Cloud ERP market and capability of the potential systems, leadership of Cloud Finance Design and/or Transformation at scale, from initial evidence gathering through to implementation and live running.
  • Experience of complex and iterative planning & scheduling, resource modelling, managing risks and interdependencies and reporting across teams within a multi-disciplinary environment.
