Are you looking for a new challenge? Then we might have just the job you’re looking for!

The UHL Bowel Cancer Screening Centre began in February 2014, covering a population of almost 1 million people. As part of the national programme all men & women aged 54-74 are offered to take part in 2 yearly screening. This is being expanded over the next 8 months to cover all 50-74 year olds so our team is expanding to manage the additional workload.

You will need to be a good communicator, able to prioritise and manage your own workload, and work as a team to ensure the smooth running of the service. Training will be provided for use of the Bowel Cancer Screening IT system; however previous NHS admin experience is essential as the role includes use of other hospital based IT systems.

The post is based at Glenfield Hospital and shifts patterns are predominately Monday to Friday office hours , with 1 or 2 evenings per week as well as some weekend working.

Part time or full time hours considered.

** Previous applicant need not apply**

We are looking for a motivated and flexible team player to join the admin team. The role is varied and involves patient contact, both face to face and on the telephone; preparing notes for clinics and procedure lists; booking of clinic and inpatient appointments; sitting reception for Bowel Screening clinics and Bowel Screening lists; and liaising with Specialist Nurses, Consultants & Nurse Endoscopists.

Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).

We have four primary goals:
• high-quality care for all,
• being a great place to work,
• partnerships for impact, and
• research and education excellence

And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.

Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
• we are compassionate,
• we are proud,
• we are inclusive, and
• we are one team

This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
