Role To be responsible for the strategic direction and service development of Podiatry & Orthotics initiatives across Lewisham and Greenwich Trust (LGT). To provide clinical, professional and operational leadership to the Podiatry & Orthotics services at Lewisham and Greenwich Trust (LGT). To deliver a highly specialised and advanced standard of assessment, treatment and podiatry management for patients within LGT. To be the professional lead for Podiatry LGT. JOB SUMMARY 1 To be the Lead Podiatrist for LGT, advising on Podiatry issues, working closely with Divisional Director of Professions and Governance (DDPG). Representing Podiatry within the Trust and to outside agencies, as required. 2 To take a lead role in the provision of the Podiatry service at LGT, using evidence based guidelines, audit and evaluation. 3 To perform an expert podiatric assessment of patients referred to the Podiatry department, including those with highly complex presentations, and from this formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner. 4 To take a lead role in the clinical supervision, teaching and appraisal of senior Podiatrists. 5 To act as a source of clinical expertise and highly advanced knowledge on Podiatry for Podiatrists and other health professionals. 6 To initiate, facilitate, supervise and present evidence based projects, and audit within the Podiatry department and to the Trust. 7 To be accountable for the Podiatry & Orthotics services across LGT managing budget and resources effectively. 8 To develop strategic vision for Podiatry & Orthotics across LGT 9 To promote good communication with other Trust departments, particularly medicine and surgery divisions, to ensure optimal patient care. 10 To deputise for the DDPG/Chief Therapist in their absence for relevant matters. 11 To work to agreed standards and within the resources available. 12 To demonstrate enhanced budgetary management, showing an innovative approach in achieving financial balance/IURP/income generation, whilst meeting demands of the service upholding quality 13 To negotiate with external parties and stake holders utilising advanced communication skills supported by advanced clinical skills. 14 To be the expert resource regarding Podiatry from a professional perspective in relation to students; apprenticeships; preceptorship. 15 To collaborate across the division, across the Trust and with partners and stakeholders to ensure optimal patient pathways and optimal use of resources, in conjunction with Chief Therapist/DDPG as required. 16 To be the lead Podiatrist as part of the Lead AHP workforce for LGT. 17 To manage the Podiatry & Orthotics service budget, and to be an authorisedsignatory up to the amount determined by the Trusts finance department
