We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our team on a part time basis, 8 hours per week (preferably 2 days per week). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:


Supervision: Oversee the work of the bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial record-keeping.
Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts using Sage but including detailed reports and analyses for directors.
Annual Accounts: Compile and prepare annual accounts for review and presentation to the directors and subsequently to the company’s external accountants and auditors.
VAT Returns: Manage and submit accurate quarterly VAT returns in a timely manner.
Cash Flow Management: Assist management with cash flow monitoring, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed.
Financial Reporting: Generate and present various financial reports and data as requested by management to aid in decision-making.
Advisory Role: Advise directors on recommending and implementing new controls and procedures to enhance financial efficiency and governance.
Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as required to support the company’s financial objectives and strategic goals.


Qualifications:

Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ICAS, CIMA or ACCA) required
Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Sage and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
