Permanent, Full Time (10PAs)
We're inviting applicants for a Consultant Community Paediatrician post in Ealing Community Partners. This is a collaboration led by West London Trust, partnered by Central North West London Trust, to provide community children’s services in Ealing. This post is currently 10PA (full time). Applicants wishing to work less than full time will be considered. The roles will cover general Child Development Team duties, with several specialist interest options available for clinics and lead roles, which can be agreed with the clinical lead.

Ealing is a vibrant, bustling residential suburb of West London. It is the largest borough in North West London.
Clinics are also run at other locations across Ealing, and in specialist schools and nurseries. Within ESCAN, the Child Development Service includes: Community Paediatricians, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy services, community nursing services, special school nurses, clinical nurse specialists, looked after children health team, paediatric audiology, and safeguarding children team.
The team has a strong commitment to training and personal development, so the post holder will be expected to participate in the teaching and training of all professional groups within the Child Health Service.
Currently the team also contributes to the hospital paediatric Grand rounds and epilepsy meetings, the neuro-disability meetings at GOSH and the bi-monthly joint teaching with Brent community paediatrics.
Post holder will participate in these as their SPA sessions allow, and contribute to audit activity and the clinical governance work of the specialty of Community Paediatrics.

You will always be part of a dynamic and experienced community paediatric team of paediatricians with an excellent skill mix who provide a full range of community paediatric services. The team currently comprises of 5 Consultants, 1 Physician Associate and a clinical Nurse Specialist. We also have access to Epilepsy Nurse Specialist based at Northwick Park Hospital.
The post holder will have the following responsibilities
• Participate in general Child Development Team clinics in a variety of locations across the borough. This includes but is not limited to developmental assessments, cerebral palsy management, Down Syndrome annual reviews, management of other genetic conditions, DCD assessments and management of other motor disorders.
• Participating in the Social Communication and Autism (SoCA) assessment service which includes assessment for ASD and ADHD, as well as long term management for ADHD
• Participate in Education and Health Care assessments
• Participate in the department’s child protection work, including supervision of middle grade for non-critical physical abuse and urgent neglect and direct delivery of service is required if middle grade is not available. Supervision of, or production of, reports and attendance at case conferences may also be required.
• Provision of educational and clinical supervision to departmental trainees, in rotation with other consultants. Post holder may also be required to act in a supervisory manner to other non-consultant grades in areas not covered by these job plans.
• Post holders may occasionally be required to cover other duties when other staff are away, this is to ensure appropriate cover is in place at all times.
