NRL are currently recruiting a Boiler Supervisor to join one of our leading clients in the Energy from Waste sector on a New Build project based in Northwich. The successful candidate will monitor major subcontractor supervision and field engineering. This role includes implementing project quality plans, managing site QC staff, and coordinating with project sites, procurement inspections, corporate offices, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain site quality programs.
- Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory representatives.
- Ensure work meets applicable codes and specifications.
- Conduct audits of site Contractor Quality Control Programs.
- Oversee welder qualification on-site testing.
- Manage Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) contacts.
- Establish inspection plans and track identified actions.
- Approve and verify testing such as soils testing, concrete placement, hydro tests, and NDE testing.
- Review documentation for construction and testing equipment certification.
- Assist in punchlist inspections and manage the punchlist.
- Collate Quality Control documentation for final handover.
- Interface with clients and government officials as required.
- Develop and implement quality programs to meet company and division goals.
- Mentor other quality professionals.
- Implement safety, quality, ethical standards, and lessons learned.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and change management initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years as Superintendent with a degree, or 5+ years without.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or Construction Management, or craft apprenticeship preferred.
- Preferred skills include knowledge of quality standards, construction technology, EPC industry, National/International Codes and Standards, project controls, risk management, and leadership skills.
Certifications
- CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector
- TechWeldl Engineering Technician knowledge/membership
- Radiographic Interpretation Level 2
- Higher National Certificate in Fabrication and Welding Technology
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.
- Requires standing, kneeling, bending, and walking long distances.
- Work in various conditions, including extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and exposure to hazardous equipment.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
